Edit: I took another photo of me in the sweater post blocking. I hope this time the sweater doesn't look like a cartoon character. I think I look a little stoned but whatever.
Carmen the product review will come later once I've used the bag longer.
I finished Snow White. I had casted it on Monday September 10th. On the 11th, I found out that yes there is no way this sweater will fit me. It included frogging it around my body in just my bra and jeans in the living room. I couldn't bring myself to cut the yarn. I had finished the main part of the body by the 16th. The first sleeve took me a week and the second took me less time. I had joined the sleeves to the body and finished the sweater yesterday afternoon.
This sweater rocked because it was so portable. I could take the different pieces in the round with me everywhere and knit where ever I was. This caused a knitter to give me an odd look in the bank, and a nonknitter in the coffee shop to ask me how long it took me to learn. She said she had been wanting to learn. The sweater is still blocking on my floor and I can't wait to be able to wear the sweater out. I don't like the preblocked photo of me in the sweater, but it can't be helped I live alone so craptastic self photos get taken.
The pattern is 14 pages long when you print it out. It goes from size XS-3XL. The written out instructions are step by step and VERY easy to follow. The ribbing is flattering and the cut of the sleeves is unique. I think it would be a great first sweater project because the instructions are so clear.

I will post about the Yarnharlot's trip to LA soon. I am waiting for one photo. Preparing for the IRB has me swamped with school. I have started my second Hogwarts sock. My Snow White Sweater is progressing nicely. I am working on the second sleeve. I caved and bought a Namaste messanger bag in chocolate brown corderoy(?) from Scout's Swag.

Hogwarts Sock Swap Two Contest 3
What type of pet do you choose as your companion at Hogwarts?
I chose an owl named Thanatos for it's outer beauty and the ability to deliver the post.
While shopping in Hogsmeade you stop by Honeydukes for some sweets. What treats do you purchase for yourself?
I cave at the chocolate counter and I buy a dark chocolate bar with a nut of some sort in it.
A potion you are preparing needs an ingredient available only at muggle shops. You don't want to stand out in your wizards robes, so you resort to traditional muggle clothing. Describe your outfit in detail.
I would wear the jeans that American muggles are so found of and a sleeveless shirt of some sort along with sandles.
What is your favorite subject to study at Hogwarts and why?
Charms and transfiguration. I love being able to create things
Likewise, what subject is your least favorite and why?
Arithamacy it is to much like math which when I got to calculus became difficult
Back to the potion you were shopping for ingredients for, what type of potion are you making, what color is it, what are the ingredients, and precisely what does the potion do?
I was making an all-purpose stain remover that is yellow. It contains chamameolle, lavendar, and dragon's blood in it to remove stains from anything. It hopefully will clean my kitchen.

I finished my first Hogwarts Sock for my partner. I'm going to wait until Jen comes to cast on for the second. I really want her opinion on the finished project and my ideal for the second sock.
I'm gauge swatching for the Snow White sweater. I'm knitting it in the Lorna's Laces fisherman I bought last year. I would love to have it done for Thanksgiving to wear in CO but I don't like to push myself. I also need to start Jen's shawl. Decisions decisions

The wedding shawl is finished. I casted on for it July 12th and I finished it September 8th. I still need to block it, but I am not wearing it until May 22nd 2009. I have time. I'm just super excited that not only do I have a finished object, but I have a finished LACE shawl.
